  • Heterogénea’s national design firm seeks to make a difference, giving its customers quality garments, designs that include manual details.
  • Fabrics with textures and glitters stand out in the designs of Seidy Villalobos.

Seidy Villalobos, from San Ramón and passionate about fashion design; created her own design firm: Heterogénea, being just a small project idea, that did not yet have a fixed course but over time it consolidated as one of the emerging firms with a big projection.

I remember that as a child, my mother had sewing machines and I liked to use, them to dresses my dolls. When I was in school, I make pants and blouses. It was something I always liked.

After taking a pattern course in San Ramón, Seidy could not continue her dream since she worked in a store, although he still maintained the idea of studying design. After working for a while and studying a career she did not like at all, she realized that she had to do what she really wanted, no matter what others thought. That moment where you can have the courage to quit your job and create Heterogeneous, being an idea to generate income and began she’s studying.

The brand uses different combinations of textiles and materials to get a creative look at the garments. The essence of their outfits are details like saddlebags or pallets, adding interest to the textile to the tactile details that make the difference in each piece. It also uses materials with a shine to provide a bit of elegance, mixed with peculiar fabrics like upholstery or curtain.

In 2018, the designer decided to join the Costa Rica Moda para el Mundo‘s consortium, she has participated in different fashion shows like Sensoria’s platform. Where she presented her collection “Nato Nativo”, defines as the expression of pride and gratitude towards her people; inspired by what for her is the architectural and reference point of the Church of San Ramón Nonato.

For the designer was a great privilege of dressing the deputy Paola Vega for May 1st, the day in which the president makes the report of work and elects a new Board of Directors within the Legislative Assembly.

Dressing the deputy Vega was a great challenge, they have a strict protocol to follow. Vega wanted a different design, and we broke the tradition a little. In the end, we make it a suit that subtly took off from the protocol but without losing the elegance it required.
